Welcome to RaahiOne ("we", "our", "us"). RaahiOne is a ride-sharing and carpooling platform that connects riders (drivers) and passengers for shared commutes. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights regarding your data.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
- Phone number — used for account creation, login via OTP verification, and emergency contact
- Name — displayed to other users on ride listings and bookings
- Email address (optional) — for account recovery and important communications
- Profile photo (optional) — displayed on your profile and ride cards
- Role preference — whether you use the app as a rider, passenger, or both
1.2 Location Data
- Pickup and drop-off locations — entered by you when searching for or posting rides
- Device location (with your permission) — used for nearby ride suggestions and SOS safety features
- We do not track your location in the background. Location is accessed only when the app is in active use.
1.3 Ride and Booking Data
- Ride details you post (route, date, time, seats, fare, vehicle type)
- Booking history (rides booked, confirmed, completed, or cancelled)
- Fare negotiations and pricing information
1.4 Vehicle Information (Riders Only)
- Vehicle type, make, model, colour, and registration number
- This information is displayed to passengers for identification purposes
1.5 Chat Messages
- Messages exchanged between riders and passengers within the app
- Chat is enabled only after a booking is confirmed, for coordination purposes
1.6 Reviews and Ratings
- Ratings (1–5 stars), review comments, and tags submitted after rides
- These are displayed publicly on user profiles to build community trust
1.7 Device and Technical Data
- Push notification token — to send you ride updates, booking confirmations, and chat notifications
- Device platform (Android/iOS)
- We do not collect device identifiers (IMEI), contacts, call logs, or browsing history
1.8 Emergency Contacts
- Names and phone numbers of emergency contacts you manually add for the SOS feature
- We do not access your phone's contact list
2. How We Use Your Information
- Account Management — to create and maintain your account, authenticate via OTP
- Ride Matching — to match riders with passengers based on route, timing, and fare
- Booking Management — to process ride bookings, confirmations, and cancellations
- Communications — to send push notifications for ride updates, booking status, and chat messages
- Safety — to enable SOS alerts and emergency contact notifications
- Reviews — to display ratings and reviews for community trust and accountability
- App Improvement — to understand usage patterns and improve the app experience
3. Information Sharing
We share limited information only in the following cases:
- With other users — Your name, profile photo, rating, and ride details are visible to matched riders/passengers for coordination
- Phone number — shared with your co-traveler only after a booking is confirmed, to enable coordination calls
- Service providers — We use third-party services for:
- OTP/SMS delivery (2Factor.in)
- Push notifications (Expo Push Service)
- Authentication (Firebase Authentication)
- Maps and geocoding (Google Maps)
- Legal requirements — We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process
4. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored on secure servers with encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)
- Passwords are not stored — authentication is handled via OTP and Firebase tokens
- Database access is restricted and protected with strong credentials
- Push notification tokens are automatically removed when invalid or when you uninstall the app
5. Data Retention
- Account data — retained as long as your account is active
- Ride and booking history — retained for your reference and dispute resolution
- Chat messages — retained for the duration of the associated ride
- Expired ride listings — automatically cleaned up by our systems
- Upon account deletion, all personal data is permanently removed (see Section 8)

All permissions are optional and requested only when needed. The app works with limited functionality even if permissions are denied.
7. Children's Privacy
RaahiOne is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete such information.
8. Account Deletion

Upon deletion, the following data will be permanently removed:
- Your profile (name, phone, email, photo)
- All ride listings you posted
- All booking records
- Chat messages
- Reviews you submitted
- Device tokens and notification preferences
- Emergency contacts
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of your personal data
- Correction — Update or correct your profile information via the app
- Deletion — Request deletion of your account and data (see Section 8)
- Withdraw Consent — Revoke permissions (location, notifications, etc.) through your device settings at any time
- Data Portability — Request your data in a portable format
